Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has reported 3,771 dengue cases and two deaths, with Kohat emerging as the worst-affected district, accounting for 2,319 cases.
The worsening situation prompted a high-level meeting chaired by KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, who directed the district administration to take immediate emergency measures to control the outbreak in Kohat.
The meeting was attended by Adviser to the Chief Minister on Health Nigar Johar, the Health Secretary, and other senior officials.
Officials briefed the governor on the latest dengue figures, factors contributing to the spread of the disease, the anti-dengue action plan, and ongoing containment efforts across the province.
Expressing concern over the rising cases, Governor Kundi also directed officials to provide regular updates on the progress of anti-dengue campaigns.
