Date Set for Completion of 2 Major Road Projects in Islamabad

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to complete the Margalla Road extension to the motorway and Sangjani Interchange projects by December 31. Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry visited both project sites and reviewed the ongoing development work in detail.

During the visit, the interior minister instructed officials to accelerate construction and continue working in double shifts to meet the deadline. He emphasized that authorities must complete both projects by December 31 without fail.

Naqvi also directed the Islamabad deputy commissioner to remove all encroachments within a week and ordered officials to immediately address all obstacles hindering construction. Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials briefed the ministers on the progress of the projects and their key features.

According to the briefing, the Margalla Road extension to Sangjani Interchange spans 2.7 kilometers and includes an underpass and an interchange. Once completed, the projects will provide Islamabad residents with an alternative route to access the motorway, helping improve connectivity between the capital and the motorway network.

CDA Chairman, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner, and other relevant officials also attended the visit.
