Daanish Schools Being Built in 9 Balochistan Districts: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that construction of Daanish schools has begun in nine districts of Balochistan, as the government seeks to expand access to quality education in the province.

Addressing participants of the Balochistan National Workshop, the prime minister said the federal government was prepared to provide another Rs. 100 billion for Balochistan’s development after the province utilizes the existing Rs. 100 billion development fund.

Shehbaz Sharif also participated in a question and answer session with workshop participants and spoke about the province’s history, resources and development challenges. He said Balochistan’s history reflected the values of courage, hospitality and tolerance, while the province included both Baloch and Pashtun communities.

The prime minister said dialogue should remain central to resolving Balochistan’s challenges and stressed the importance of listening to the concerns of the people and tribal elders. He said Balochistan was Pakistan’s richest province in terms of natural resources and emphasized that the people of the province had the first right over its resources.

Shehbaz said Balochistan receives a 10 percent higher share in government schemes compared with other provinces and called for a fair distribution of resources to address the province’s challenges.
