The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has launched an inquiry into alleged financial irregularities worth Rs. 17.5 million per month involving fuel and vehicle rental expenses at the Suthra Punjab Agency in Faisalabad.
According to reports, the agency reportedly declared 800 sanitation vehicles to the Punjab government, although only around 550 were allegedly operating in the field.
The declared fleet was costing approximately Rs. 15.6 million per month in fuel expenses. When rental costs for another 200 vehicles were included, the suspected financial irregularities reportedly reached nearly Rs. 17.5 million per month.
Reports also alleged that gas station employees and other individuals used multiple fake registration plates on a single vehicle to obtain fuel against different vehicle numbers. The vehicle was then reportedly taken to a workshop near the gas station on Rajbah Road, where the fuel was drained.
Investigators are also examining allegations that vehicle tracking devices were deliberately damaged and CCTV cameras at the gas station were disabled to conceal the suspected activities.
As part of the inquiry, ACE officials have obtained video recordings, documents, and mobile phones from some employees.
Local anti-corruption officials are reviewing the evidence and financial records to determine the extent of the alleged irregularities and establish responsibility. Any legal action will depend on the outcome of the investigation.
