Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has reportedly ordered the dismissal of an electrician after the air conditioning system failed during a Workers’ Convention at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar.
According to media reports, the chief minister was seen sweating during the event on Sunday after the venue’s air conditioners reportedly malfunctioned.
The incident allegedly prompted immediate administrative action against officials responsible for the facility.
Reports said a formal notification was issued dismissing the electrician in charge of the hall’s electrical equipment. In addition, the Director of Culture was reportedly transferred, while the caretaker of Nishtar Hall was suspended over the incident.
The reported action has drawn attention on social media, where users debated whether such disciplinary measures were justified over the failure of the venue’s cooling system.
As of now, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has not issued an official statement confirming or commenting on the reported dismissals and transfers. Further details are expected once the provincial authorities respond to the reports.
