The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated action against 377 illegal structures along Islamabad Expressway East.
The operation is being conducted by the CDA’s Building Control Section in coordination with the Enforcement Directorate and district administration against unauthorized construction, commercial activities and land-use violations.
CDA has identified 377 structures for action, including 281 commercial structures. More than 140 structures have so far been proceeded against along the stretch from Soan Dehati through Iqbal Town, Khanna Pull and Koral Bridge toward Koral and Gulberg Greens.
According to the authority, around Rs. 3 billion is recoverable in land-conversion charges and penalties linked to unauthorized construction, setback violations, floor area ratio breaches and covered-area violations.
The CDA has identified and demarcated 124 structures between Soan and Khanna Pull for demolition, with demolition work already underway.
The authority said sealed premises would remain closed until violations are rectified and all legal and regularization requirements are completed with approval from the competent authority.
