CCD Officials Accused of Kidnapping Girl During Punjab Raid

Residents of Chak 187/EB in Vehari, Punjab have accused plainclothes Crime Control Department (CCD) officials of taking a girl away in a civilian vehicle during a raid to arrest a wanted suspect.

The villagers alleged that the personnel entered two homes without any female police constable and mistreated women and children. When the suspect could not be found, the officials allegedly took the girl with them.

Residents contacted police emergency helpline 15 following the incident. They claimed that local police denied having prior information about the CCD operation.

A Vehari police spokesperson confirmed that a Burewala CCD team had conducted a raid in the village to arrest a suspect identified as Bilal. He was wanted in connection with a burglary case registered at Gaggo Mandi police station.

However, the spokesperson denied the allegation that the team had taken any girl away.

The residents’ account and the police response differ on this central allegation. The information provided does not establish the girl’s whereabouts or whether a formal complaint concerning her alleged removal has been registered.
