BYD Unveils 1,100KM Range Car Which Will Kick Off Local Assembly in Pakistan
BYD has displayed the Sealion 6 at PAPS 2026, with the five-seat plug-in hybrid crossover set to become the first BYD vehicle assembled locally in Pakistan.
The Sealion 6 will therefore play a central role in BYD’s local manufacturing plans as production gets underway at the company’s facility in Sindh.
Powertrain and Range
The international specification previously shown uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor. The setup produces a reported 319 hp and 550Nm of torque.
Its 18.3kWh battery provides a claimed pure-electric range of up to 70km under NEDC testing. An international specification of the Sealion 6 also lists a claimed combined petrol-electric range of around 1,100km, allowing the PHEV to cover significantly longer distances once the petrol engine and battery are used together.
The Sealion 6 is positioned as a road-focused plug-in hybrid crossover aimed at the mainstream SUV segment rather than the larger premium category occupied by models such as the Denza B8.
Dimensions
The BYD Sealion 6 measures 4,775mm long, 1,890mm wide and 1,670mm tall.
Its wheelbase measures 2,765mm, placing it firmly in the five-seat crossover category.

Interior and Features
The Sealion 6 comes with BYD’s rotating central infotainment display, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other equipment includes wireless phone charging, a head-up display, NFC-based vehicle access and ambient lighting.
The front seats are electrically adjustable, while the cabin is designed around a more conventional family-crossover layout.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The Sealion 6 also brings a substantial driver-assistance package.
Features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Lane-Keeping Assistance and a 360-degree camera system.
The crossover also comes with eight airbags.
BYD’s First Locally Assembled Vehicle
The biggest significance of the Sealion 6 for Pakistan is its role in BYD’s manufacturing plans.
The crossover is confirmed to become BYD’s first locally assembled vehicle in the country, making it the first model expected to roll out from the company’s Sindh production operation.
Its final Pakistan specifications and pricing will determine how it competes in the increasingly crowded plug-in hybrid crossover segment.
