Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (PSX: ACPL) has approved the installation of a 20 MWh battery energy storage system and a dedicated 5 MW solar power setup at its plant to reduce reliance on peak grid electricity.
According to a material disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on September 30, 2026, the company’s board approved the project through a resolution by circulation.
The project will combine battery storage with dedicated solar generation at the company’s plant, allowing Attock Cement to optimize energy costs while increasing its use of renewable energy.
The company said the project is intended to reduce its dependence on peak grid electricity and enhance its renewable energy capacity.
Attock Cement was incorporated in Pakistan in 1981 and started commercial production in 1988. The company manufactures and sells cement from its plant in Hub, Balochistan, with production capacity now at about 4 million tons per year.
