Argentina has launched a new citizenship-by-investment program that will allow foreigners to obtain citizenship by investing at least $350,000 in the country.
Under the program, applicants can either make a non-refundable contribution of $350,000 to the National Treasury or invest $800,000 in a government bond created specifically for the scheme.
Spouses and children of applicants can also obtain citizenship. Spouses and adult children can qualify through a $100,000 contribution to the Treasury, while those under 18 can do so with a $25,000 contribution.
The government said the funds raised through the program will be used to strengthen Argentina’s fiscal and financial position.
The Economy Ministry said all investments will undergo a strict review process to ensure the traceability of funds, prevent money laundering and protect national security.
The move comes as Argentina looks to attract more foreign investment. According to the OECD, the country received $3.134 billion in foreign direct investment in 2025, compared with $76.877 billion in Brazil and $40.871 billion in Mexico.
