Another Chinese Company to Start Battery Production in Pakistan
Quantum Data Technologies Limited (PSX: QTECH) has signed a strategic cooperation and market development agreement with China’s Guangzhou Great Power Energy & Technology Co. Ltd. to introduce and progressively localize the assembly of advanced battery energy storage systems in Pakistan.
In a material disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on October 14, QTECH said the collaboration would cover residential and commercial battery packs, industrial and utility-scale energy storage systems, and solutions for data centers, artificial intelligence infrastructure, electric vehicle batteries and other energy-intensive applications.
Guangzhou Great Power Energy & Technology specializes in advanced lithium batteries and energy storage solutions. The company is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange under stock code 300438, with an approximate market capitalization of $4 billion as of October 13, 2026.
QTECH, a data and AI-driven technology company, said reliable energy supplies and energy security were essential to Pakistan’s technological development.
It described the collaboration as a strategy to develop technology ventures and create long-term shareholder value.
The company said further material developments would be disclosed in accordance with applicable regulations.
The agreement follows a similar development earlier this month, when Kohinoor Energy Limited signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with China’s Hebei Juhang Energy Technology Group to explore a joint venture for lithium-ion battery pack assembly, manufacturing and energy storage systems in Pakistan.
