“Made in Pakistan” will give the country a stronger identity in global markets and turn Pakistani products into a global brand, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Monday.
The minister made these remarks while addressing a review meeting on progress of the 2025-2029 action plan agreed with China during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to the country in August 2025.
He said Pakistan needed to increase exports to achieve lasting economic stability and build a stronger position in the international market.
The minister said Pakistan was working with China to strengthen its IT sector and improve the skills of its young workforce. He called the country’s youth a valuable asset and said they would be equipped with modern skills and training.
Agriculture is also part of the cooperation. The minister said 1,000 Pakistani students had been sent to China for agricultural training, while the country itself was benefiting from Chinese assistance in modern agricultural research.
He said Pakistan was also starting Green Pakistan projects with Chinese cooperation, adding that Pakistan was among the countries most severely affected by climate change.
He further added the Uraan Pakistan program was proving beneficial for the economy and stressed that stronger exports would be key to maintaining stability.
