Acer has expanded its Windows gaming handheld lineup with the Predator Atlas 7, a smaller 7-inch alternative to the 8-inch Predator Atlas 8 announced earlier this year.
The company introduced the new handheld at its IFA press conference in Berlin. Acer also showed a concept device called Project DualPlay Mini, which combines a handheld gaming system with a small productivity laptop design.
Design and Display
The Predator Atlas 7 features a 7-inch 1080p IPS touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The panel reaches up to 500 nits of brightness and supports variable refresh rate.
Acer has included Hall-effect analog triggers, while buyers can also choose TMR joysticks designed to reduce the risk of stick drift.
The handheld weighs 750 grams with the larger 80Wh battery. Acer will also offer a 60Wh version weighing just under 700 grams.
Hardware and Storage
The Predator Atlas 7 uses Intel’s latest mobile hardware and can be configured with up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and Intel Arc B390 graphics.
It supports up to 24GB of RAM.
For storage, Acer uses a standard M.2 2280 slot with support for up to 1TB. The standard format should also make replacing the storage drive with a larger one easier.
Acer uses a dual-fan cooling system consisting of a thin metal fan and a conventional plastic fan to cool the internal hardware.
Connectivity
The Predator Atlas 7 includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a UHS-II microSD card slot.
It also supports Wi-Fi 7.
A fingerprint reader is integrated into the power button for biometric authentication.
Battery
Acer has fitted the handheld with an 80Wh battery, which is unusually large for a 7-inch gaming device.
A smaller 60Wh battery configuration will also be available for users who prefer a lighter device.
Project DualPlay Mini
Acer also showed Project DualPlay Mini, an 8-inch concept gaming handheld with a flip-and-swivel display.
Opening and rotating the screen reveals a built-in backlit keyboard.
The design allows users to operate the device as a conventional controller-based handheld or rotate the screen to use the keyboard for first-person shooters and productivity tasks.
Acer has not announced any plans to release Project DualPlay Mini commercially.
The company also placed a Morse code message on the back of the concept device to mark Acer’s 50th anniversary.
Pricing and Availability
The Acer Predator Atlas 7 will launch in North America in the fourth quarter of 2026.
It will arrive in EMEA in November.
Acer has not announced pricing for the Predator Atlas 7 yet.
The larger Predator Atlas 8 remains scheduled to launch in September.
