HEC Bans Cigarettes, Vapes and Sheesha
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has strictly banned all forms of smoking in its offices across Pakistan, including guest houses and open areas within its premises.
According to HEC, the ban covers cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, hookahs (sheesha), heated tobacco products, and all other forms of smoking.
The commission has warned that action will be taken against anyone who violates the policy.
In a message, HEC Executive Director Professor Dr. Zia Ul Haq, SI, said the commission is also in contact with the heads of all higher education institutions (HEIs) across Pakistan.
He said the vast majority of these institutions have already banned all forms of smoking on their campuses and premises.
The commission has also urged everyone to help maintain a clean, healthy, and smoke-free environment.
