Pakistani Students Can Apply for Danish Government Scholarships 2027

The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is offering Danish Government Scholarships for Pakistani and other international students seeking admission to selected Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs for the September 2027 intake.

According to the university’s official scholarship announcement, selected students can receive full tuition-fee waivers for the standard duration of their degree programs.

The scholarships are available to academically qualified applicants from countries outside the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA).

Eligible programs include Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Science.

The scholarships are offered at the university’s Sønderborg and Vejle campuses. Successful Master’s students can receive tuition-fee coverage for up to two years, while eligible Bachelor’s students can receive support for up to three years.

However, the scholarships do not provide a monthly living allowance. Students must arrange separate funding for accommodation, food, transportation, and other living expenses.

Interested candidates do not need to submit a separate scholarship application. The university will automatically consider eligible applicants who apply for admission to the relevant programmes.

The application deadline is February 1, 2027, for Master’s programmes and March 15, 2027, for Bachelor’s program.

SDU Danish Government Scholarships 2027

The Danish Government Scholarship programme aims to attract academically talented international students to selected degree programmes at the University of Southern Denmark.

The university offers a limited number of scholarships each year. Awards are based on academic qualifications and performance in the relevant selection process.

Eligible Master’s Degree Programmes

The university is offering scholarship consideration for five Master’s programmes at its Sønderborg campus.

Master’s Program Campus
MSc in Engineering Physics Sønderborg
MSc in Electrical Engineering Sønderborg
MSc in Mechanical Engineering Sønderborg
MSc in Mechatronics Sønderborg
MSc in Software Engineering Sønderborg

Eligible Bachelor’s Degree Programmes

The university also offers scholarship consideration for four Bachelor’s programmes at its Vejle campus.

Bachelor’s Program Campus
BSc in Artificial Intelligence Vejle
BSc in Computer Science Vejle
BSc in Interactive Technology Engineering Vejle
BSc in Software Engineering Vejle

Scholarship Benefits and Tuition Coverage

The university’s main Danish Government Scholarship announcement describes the award as a full tuition-fee waiver for the standard duration of the relevant degree.

The waiver covers a normal academic workload of 30 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credits per semester.

Students taking additional courses beyond 30 ECTS in a semester may have to pay the fees associated with those extra credits.

Recipients must also maintain satisfactory academic progress to retain their scholarship.

The university normally expects students to complete 30 ECTS credits each semester.

Students who fail to meet the required academic progress conditions may lose scholarship support for the following semester.

SDU’s separate Bachelor’s scholarship guidance also allows for full or partial tuition waivers. Applicants should therefore confirm the exact coverage stated in their individual scholarship offers.

Eligibility Criteria for Danish Government Scholarships 2027

The scholarships are available to highly qualified international students from non-EU and non-EEA countries.

Pakistani students are eligible to apply if they meet the admission requirements for an approved degree programme.

Candidates must apply to one of the programmes specifically included in the university’s scholarship scheme.

Students applying to programmes outside the approved list will not qualify for these scholarships.

Applicants must also meet the academic and language requirements of their chosen programme.

For Master’s admission, candidates must have completed a relevant Bachelor’s degree or provide acceptable documentation of their pending qualification.

The university will assess previous academic performance and the compatibility of the applicant’s qualifications with the selected programme.

For Bachelor’s admission, candidates must hold an acceptable secondary education qualification and satisfy the relevant subject requirements.

Applicants who qualify for Denmark’s State Educational Grant and Loan Scheme (SU) cannot receive the Danish Government Scholarship.

English Language Requirements

International students applying for English-taught Master’s programmes must demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency.

The University of Southern Denmark generally requires an overall IELTS Academic score of 6.5, with no individual band below 6.5.

The university also accepts TOEFL iBT and Cambridge English qualifications. For TOEFL iBT, the published minimum total score is 83, along with the applicable minimum component scores.

Applicants presenting Cambridge C1 Advanced qualifications must achieve a minimum score of 180.

The language test must meet the university’s validity requirements, and results must be available for verification before the application deadline.

Scholarship Selection Criteria

The university awards scholarships through a competitive selection process. For Master’s applicants, the selection committee considers academic performance in the previous Bachelor’s degree.

The university also conducts online interviews with shortlisted candidates. These interviews normally take place between February 19 and 27.

Candidates may be asked technical questions related to the admission requirements of their selected Master’s programme.

For Bachelor’s scholarships, selection is based on performance in the online university admission test, known as uniTEST, and an online interview.

Candidates with the highest relevant uniTEST scores will be invited to interviews. Bachelor’s scholarship interviews are normally held in early June.

How to Apply for SDU Danish Government Scholarships 2027

Interested candidates must apply for admission to an eligible programme at the University of Southern Denmark.

No separate scholarship application is required. The university automatically considers eligible applicants for scholarships through the admission process.

However, Master’s and Bachelor’s applicants must follow different application procedures. Pakistani students applying for eligible Master’s programmes must use the university’s DANS online application system.

Applicants should first visit the University of Southern Denmark website at www.sdu.dk and select an eligible Master’s programme at the Sønderborg campus.

They must review the programme’s academic and language requirements before preparing their application. Candidates should provide their official Bachelor’s degree certificate and academic transcripts.

The documents must include course details, grades, and relevant academic credits. Applicants must also submit verified course descriptions and a self-assessment form where required.

Proof of English language proficiency is compulsory unless the applicant qualifies through another accepted form of documentation.

The university generally requires non-EU and non-EEA applicants to pay an application deposit fee of €200, unless an exemption applies.

Candidates must pay the fee before submitting their application and upload the payment receipt. All required documents must be uploaded through the online application system.

The university does not accept documents submitted separately by email for scholarship consideration.

Applicants applying to more than one Master’s programme at SDU must list the scholarship-eligible Master’s programme as their highest priority to be considered for funding.
