Govt to Reveal Everything
Pakistan’s Establishment Division has moved to digitize annual performance evaluation reports for federal government officers.
The first phase will cover officers from the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan and Office Management Group, among other services.
The system is being developed with technical support from the National Information Technology Board and will operate under the Human Resource Management Information System.
Performance Reviews to Follow New Timelines
Under the revised mechanism, each stage of the annual performance evaluation process will have a prescribed timeframe of 10 to 15 days.
The initiative is intended to reduce delays and reliance on manual documentation while making the assessment process more efficient and transparent.
The Establishment Division said requests for officers’ postings and transfers generally take seven to 15 days to process.
Disciplinary proceedings are initiated within seven days of receiving a case, while inquiries against government officers must be completed within 60 days under the applicable rules.
Extensions may be granted through the prescribed procedure.
After an inquiry is completed, an officer may be given up to 14 days to respond to a show cause notice. The rules also allow extensions in certain cases, subject to applicable conditions.
