Pump Owners Unhappy With Daily Fuel Prices
Pakistan’s petrol pump owners have criticized the daily fuel pricing mechanism.
The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has sought a meeting with Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik to discuss the impact on fuel retailers.
They said the frequent changes in petroleum prices are causing financial losses, disrupting cash flow and making inventory management difficult.
In a letter to the minister, the association said repeated price changes were creating uncertainty in fuel purchases and sales while complicating the valuation of existing stocks.
It warned that the mechanism was affecting routine business operations and exposing petrol pump owners to financial risks.
Pump Owners Seek Review of Daily Pricing
The association called for a practical and transparent system for determining petroleum prices, arguing that retailers should be consulted before changes are introduced.
It said the government should consider the interests of petrol pump owners while ensuring uninterrupted fuel supplies to consumers.
The letter requested a meeting with the Petroleum Minister to discuss the problems caused by the current mechanism and present practical proposals for addressing them.
The association said a review was needed to reduce business uncertainty and improve the management of fuel stocks and cash flow.
