Redmi has quietly launched the Redmi Band 4 in China, with sales starting today. The new fitness tracker succeeds the Redmi Band 3 from 2024 and brings changes to its design, cover glass, and battery life.
Design and Display
The Redmi Band 4 features a metal-textured frame, unibody design, and 2.5D curved cover glass.
Its display measures 1.47 inches and supports a 60Hz refresh rate.
Redmi has also added a vertical texture to the strap and updated the pin-style clasp to keep the band more securely in place during workouts and everyday use.
Fitness and Health Tracking
The Band 4 supports all-day stress monitoring, heart rate tracking, blood oxygen measurement, sleep tracking, and women’s health management.
Its stress monitoring feature tracks changes throughout the day.
Users also get 50 sports modes, covering activities including running, cycling, and table tennis.
The fitness tracker carries a 5ATM water-resistance rating.
Outside fitness tracking, the Band 4 can display message notifications, set alarms, and switch between different watch faces.
In China, it also supports payments using WeChat and Alipay QR codes.
Battery Life
Redmi rates the Band 4 for up to 21 days of battery life, three days longer than the Redmi Band 3’s maximum of 18 days.
With regular monitoring features enabled, battery life falls to around eight days.
Actual endurance will therefore depend on which tracking features are active.
Redmi Band 4 Drops NFC
One feature missing from the new model is NFC.
The Redmi Band 3 supported NFC for offline payments in China, but Redmi does not list NFC support for the Band 4.
The Redmi Band series originally launched in 2020 with a starting price of 99 yuan.
The new Redmi Band 4 costs 169 yuan, or around $25, slightly higher than the Redmi Band 3’s launch price of 159 yuan.
