The Sindh government has increased the house rent allowance for Sindh Secretariat employees from 50% to 85%, following protests by the employees’ association, SENWA.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the increase, which will be effective from July 1, 2026.
The decision brings the house rent allowance for Sindh Secretariat employees in line with the rates applicable in other provinces.
Under the revised payment arrangement, employees will receive the allowance in four installments annually, with the amount deposited directly into their bank accounts every three months.
