Pakistan Women Set to Compete in ICC Emerging Nations Trophy
Pakistan’s women’s cricket team will participate in the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy, scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 12 to 26.
The squad will be selected based on players’ performances in the ongoing National Women’s T20 Tournament in Faisalabad.
The domestic competition gives players a chance to showcase their skills and secure a place in the national squad ahead of the international tournament.
The National Women’s T20 Tournament final is scheduled for October 25, after which selectors will assess players’ performances before finalizing the squad.
The ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy will feature 10 teams divided into two groups of five, followed by a Super Six stage to determine which teams advance further in the competition.
Pakistan have been placed in Group B alongside Bangladesh, Thailand, the Netherlands, and Zimbabwe.
Group A includes Ireland, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Five of the 10 participating teams represent ICC Associate Member countries, with the tournament providing emerging women’s cricket nations an opportunity to gain international experience and improve their competitiveness.
Pakistan will look to put in a strong performance against their Group B opponents when the tournament begins in Bangkok next month.
