Middle East Conflict Disrupts Flights at Pakistan’s Airports
Flight operations at Pakistan’s international airports have faced widespread disruptions amid the conflict in the Middle East, particularly security concerns linked to Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabian airports, 24News reported on Friday.
Airlines have canceled 42 flights bound for Saudi Arabia, while another 68 flights face delays ranging from two to seven hours at different airports across Pakistan.
Airport sources told 24News that the disruptions have created difficulties for travelers, particularly Umrah pilgrims. Airlines have canceled several flights to Saudi destinations because of the prevailing security situation.
Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport has reported 13 flight cancellations and delays affecting another 12 flights. At Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, airlines have canceled 10 flights and delayed another 13.
Islamabad International Airport has also reported significant disruptions, with nine flights canceled and eight delayed. Meanwhile, airlines have canceled seven flights at Multan International Airport.
