Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metrobus Suspended for Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Series

Metrobus services between Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be temporarily suspended as Pakistan prepares to host Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 9 to 13.

The service between Saddar Station and Pak Secretariat will stop whenever teams are being transported. Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, IJP Road, and Sixth Road stations will also remain closed during matches.

According to Metrobus sources, the restrictions were ordered by the district administration for security purposes. The wider restriction period runs from October 4 to November 13, but services will not remain suspended continuously throughout that period.

Sri Lanka’s first contingent has arrived in Islamabad ahead of the series. The 13-member group includes eight players and five management personnel, with Kusal Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, Maheesh Theekshana and Eshan Malinga among those who have arrived.

Additional players and officials are scheduled to reach Pakistan in separate groups before the opening match.

Rawalpindi will also host matches in the subsequent ODI tri-series involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England, beginning October 18. Sri Lanka’s first Test against Pakistan is scheduled at the same venue from November 9 to 13.

Exact Metrobus suspension timings and alternative transport arrangements have not been provided in the available information.
