Samsung Galaxy S27 Will Finally Get a Redesign
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra may look almost unchanged from the front compared with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to a new leak.
Tipster Ice Universe shared screen protectors said to belong to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, suggesting that the front design will be nearly identical to the current model. The tipster described it as potentially the smallest front-display design change between two consecutive Galaxy Ultra flagships.
Same Design, New Display Technology
Despite the familiar appearance, Samsung is reportedly planning to upgrade the panel itself.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is tipped to use Samsung’s next-generation M16 OLED display, which is expected to offer better power efficiency, improved color accuracy, and higher brightness.
The M16 panel has already appeared on the iQOO 16, where it is rated for up to 10,000 nits of local peak brightness and 2,800 nits of global peak brightness.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to retain a 6.9-inch display with a resolution of 3120 × 1440 pixels. Samsung’s Privacy Display technology is also expected to return.

The difference between the S27 Ultra and S26 Ultra is incredibly small. In fact, this may be the smallest change in front display design between two consecutive Ultra flagships in Samsung’s history.

New Selfie Camera
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to receive a new 16MP front camera.
This would represent another hardware change despite the phone retaining essentially the same front form factor.
Bigger Battery in the Same Footprint
Samsung is also reportedly working on increasing the battery capacity without making the phone noticeably larger.
The company is said to be improving the battery’s energy density, allowing it to fit more capacity into roughly the same physical space.
The exact battery capacity has not yet been revealed.
Rear Camera Design Could Change
While the front may remain mostly unchanged, the rear could receive a more noticeable redesign.
Leaks suggest Samsung may introduce a much larger camera island extending across most of the phone’s width.
The individual cameras are still expected to remain positioned toward the left side of the module.
The Galaxy S27 series is expected to launch early next year, so additional details could emerge in the coming months
