FGEHA Ordered to Accelerate Development of Sky Garden Project
Secretary Housing and Works retired Captain Mohammad Mahmood has directed the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) to accelerate development work on the Sky Garden Housing Project and complete pending matters within the stipulated timelines.
Mahmood issued the directions during a visit to the project, where he reviewed ongoing development work and stressed the need to preserve the area’s natural terrain and environment. He directed officials to minimize unnecessary land cutting, protect pine trees and other vegetation, and use suitable measures to prevent soil erosion and stabilize slopes.
He also ordered the preparation of a comprehensive water channelization plan that accounts for rainwater and natural water-flow routes. He gave special priority to drainage and sewerage systems to prevent problems during and after construction.
Mahmood emphasized that FGEHA should hand over possession only after completing the necessary basic facilities and ensuring quality residential infrastructure.
Officials informed him that development work in Blocks A, B and D of Package-I has reached its final stages. FGEHA plans to hand over possession of these three blocks to allottees by December 31, 2026.
The project has 4,255 plots, of which 2,470 have been allotted. FGEHA said officials are also working to finalize pending technical and administrative matters needed for the project’s completion.
