Pakistan Crush India to Reach Asian Games Volleyball Semifinals
Pakistan defeated arch-rival India 3-0 in the Asian Games 2026 men’s volleyball quarter-final at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium.
Pakistan took control early by winning the opening set 25-19 in 23 minutes.
India showed stronger resistance in the second set, but Pakistan held its nerve in a tightly contested battle to edge it 25-23 after 34 minutes and move one set away from victory.
Pakistan then dominated the third set, winning 25-18 in 25 minutes to complete a straight-sets victory and secure a place in the semifinals.
Murad Khan led Pakistan with 19 points, including 18 successful spikes. Ali Usman Faryad contributed 13 points, while Mohammad Hammad added nine.
Pakistan also held the advantage in attack points, recording 75 compared to India’s 60, and led 5-4 in blocks.
India, however, had the edge in service points and forced 20 opponent errors, one more than Pakistan.
Pakistan began its Asian Games campaign with a 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan before beating Uzbekistan 3-0 to secure qualification for the knockout stage with one match to spare.
In its final pool match, Pakistan suffered a 3-0 defeat against host Japan, which is considered one of the favorites for the gold medal alongside defending champion Iran.
