Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched mobile police station vans to bring essential police services closer to citizens across the province.
The initiative has made 33 mobile police stations operational in different districts, including 6 Pink Mobile Police Stations with dedicated female staff to handle matters involving women.
The mobile units will serve citizens in far-flung areas and help reduce their travel time and expenses. They will also visit universities and girls’ colleges according to a schedule and reach other areas based on information from Police Emergency 15 calls.
Each mobile police station will offer 14 police-related services, including online FIR applications, missing reports, criminal record checks, tenant registration, police verification and character certificate verification.
Citizens will also be able to report lost CNICs, cards, checkbooks and other documents through the mobile units. The vans will provide learner and regular driving licenses, license renewals, duplicate licenses and international driving licenses.
The Pink Mobile Police Stations will have female staff to assist women with sensitive matters, including harassment, violence and abuse against women and children. Authorities will announce the vans’ schedules through social media, other communication channels and local mosque announcements.
