The proposed tri-series between Pakistan, Ireland, and Zimbabwe next year has become uncertain, with Zimbabwe unlikely to travel to Pakistan for the event, according to reports.
Discussions are also underway regarding Ireland’s proposed tour of Pakistan. The Irish team was initially expected to play one Test and three T20Is, but sources said it could instead visit Pakistan for a three-match ODI series.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ireland, and Zimbabwe are currently consulting over the schedule and proposed changes. A final decision on the tri-series and Ireland’s tour will be made after further discussions.
Meanwhile, the ODI tri-series between Pakistan, England, and Sri Lanka is also being lined up for the coming months, with a tentative schedule already prepared.
Under the proposed plan, Rawalpindi is expected to host the opening three matches on October 18, 20, and 22. The action would then shift to Lahore for three more matches on October 25, 27, and 29.
The final is tentatively scheduled for November 1 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The tournament is expected to give Pakistan important ODI preparation ahead of the 2027 World Cup, while England and Sri Lanka will also have an opportunity to assess their squads in the 50-over format.
The schedule has not yet been officially announced and could still be revised before confirmation.
