The National Highways and Motorway Police has issued a traffic advisory regarding ongoing road repair work on several sections of the M-2, M-3 and M-4 motorways and has urged motorists to drive cautiously through the affected areas.
In a separate update, the NH&MP said the M-1 Motorway between Islamabad and Peshawar has been reopened to traffic in both directions.
According to the advisory issued on Monday, September 28, road repair work is under way on the E-35 Burhan-Thakot section and at several locations on the M-2 between Kot Momin and Islamabad.

The affected M-2 locations include Akhoon di Bandi, Balkasar, Capital Smart City, Neela Dulha and Kallar Kahar.
Repair and maintenance work is also under way on sections of the M-2 between Kot Momin and Lahore, the M-3 between Lahore and Abdul Hakeem, and the M-4 between Pindi Bhattian and Abdul Hakeem.
The NH&MP also identified ongoing work and traffic diversions at various points on the N-5 National Highway in the north, central and southern zones.
The advisory comes amid heightened traffic and security arrangements following the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s planned Islamabad long march, which has now been postponed.
The march, originally scheduled for September 27, has been rescheduled for October 4, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi saying the convoy will leave Peshawar on that date.
Authorities had earlier imposed traffic and security restrictions on several routes leading towards Islamabad in connection with the planned protest.
The NH&MP advised motorists to remain alert and follow traffic instructions while passing through roadwork zones.
