Mandatory Vaccination Certificate for Hajj and Umrah Pilgrims Introduced at Another Pakistani Airport
The deadline allowing Umrah pilgrims from Karachi to travel without vaccination has been extended, while new vaccination requirements have also been announced for pilgrims travelling from Peshawar.
Dr. Syed Murtaza Shah Bukhari, focal person of the Federal Airport Health Department, Border Health Services, said the exemption for travel without vaccination has been extended by another 15 days.
Karachi Pilgrims Get Extension
Umrah pilgrims travelling from Karachi can now travel without vaccination until October 10.
According to the focal person, five NADRA facilitation centres have also been established at the Karachi Airport Dispensary.
Vaccination services at the Jacob Line Dispensary are expected to begin next week.
Vaccination Mandatory in Peshawar From October 15
Meanwhile, unvaccinated Umrah pilgrims travelling from Peshawar will face a travel restriction from October 15.
Vaccination will become mandatory from that date for both Umrah pilgrims and passengers travelling on Saudi visit visas from Peshawar.
Umrah pilgrims from Peshawar can continue travelling without vaccination until October 14.
A vaccination centre has been established at the Civil Surgeon’s Office in Peshawar, with 20 counters for men and women. Two NADRA facilitation centres are also being established at the vaccination centre.
Dr. Syed Murtaza Shah Bukhari advised citizens to get vaccinated at least 10 days before travelling.
