This New Pakistani 200cc Rickshaw Comes With a Reverse Camera and Digital Dashboard
Laldin Motors has unveiled the KP1 200cc auto-rickshaw at the Pakistan Auto Show, introducing a more modern take on the traditional three-wheeler sold in Pakistan.
Developed in collaboration with Chinese engineering partners, the KP1 combines a locally manufactured body with features including independent rear suspension, disc brakes on all three wheels, a reverse camera, digital instrumentation, and a liquid-cooled engine.
Exterior and Chassis
The KP1 takes inspiration from tuk-tuk designs used in international markets.
Its chassis and sheet-metal body are locally pressed, welded, and assembled using modern manufacturing methods.
Laldin Motors uses an Electro-Deposition (ED) coating process before applying the final paint layer. The company says this provides better rust protection and durability than conventional spray painting.
The rickshaw also features LED headlights with integrated parking lights and LED taillights.
Its structural roll cage remains fixed, while the outer fabric roof can be removed to create an open-air configuration.
Unlike some lightweight three-wheelers, the KP1 uses a full sheet-metal body instead of plastic body panels.
According to Irfan from Laldin Motors, the company expects the ED treatment to provide a structural life of around eight to ten years without rusting.
Suspension, Brakes and Safety
Laldin has replaced the traditional rigid rear differential and leaf-spring arrangement with an independent rear suspension system.
The setup uses coilover shocks, a sway bar, and drive shafts, with the aim of providing a smoother ride than conventional rickshaw suspension.
The KP1 also gets disc brakes on all three wheels.
A Combined Braking System (CBS) operates through a single foot pedal and distributes braking force across the wheels.
A factory-installed reverse camera is mounted on the lower rear bumper to improve rear visibility while parking or reversing.
Cabin and Comfort
The rear passenger bench gets deeper cushioning and a reclined backrest instead of the basic flat seating commonly found in traditional rickshaws.
The driver also gets a wider bench seat with a high backrest intended to reduce fatigue during longer shifts.
A fully digital instrument cluster displays speed, engine RPM, fuel level, and engine temperature.
Other cabin features include USB multimedia connectivity, mobile charging ports, an automatic windshield wiper, and a manual fan override switch for additional cooling in traffic.
Engine and Specifications
The KP1 uses a 200cc water-cooled engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
It also includes a dedicated reverse gear.

Price and Availability
Laldin Motors expects the KP1 to cost between Rs. 650,000 and Rs. 700,000.
The company says its production line is ready and bookings are now open.
The KP1 combines a 200cc liquid-cooled engine with independent rear suspension, three-wheel disc brakes, digital instrumentation, a reverse camera, and additional cabin features, making it significantly different from the basic rickshaw designs commonly used in Pakistan.
