The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered the sealing of the marketing and site offices of Nilore Homes on Lehtrar Road, near the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), over development carried out without required approvals.
According to a CDA document, the housing scheme began development without an approved Layout Plan or a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
The authority has declared the development and use of the land unauthorized under the CDA Ordinance 1960, ICT Zoning Regulations 1992 and regulations governing private housing schemes in Islamabad.
The CDA said it had previously issued notices and show-cause notices to the sponsors, directing them to stop development work as well as the marketing, sale and purchase, allotment and transfer of plots.
The sponsors were also ordered to remove structures constructed without approval and discontinue the unauthorized use of the land.
Despite these directions, along with public notices published in national newspapers and uploaded to the CDA website, the required approvals were not obtained, according to the authority.
The Directorate of Regional Planning has therefore asked the CDA Enforcement Directorate to seal the scheme’s marketing and site offices in accordance with the applicable regulations.
The CDA has also sought action for the demolition of buildings and other structures constructed without approved building plans.
Relevant authorities have been directed to ensure that electricity and gas connections are provided only in accordance with CDA-approved layout and building plans.
The authority has also proposed action against the advertising and online promotion of housing schemes that have not obtained the required approvals.
