Geely to Launch 3 SUVs in Pakistan
Bestway Automotive Private Limited (BAL) is preparing to launch three Geely SUVs in Pakistan, consisting of two electric vehicles and one hybrid model.
Muhammad Irfan Anwar Sheikh, Group Managing Director of Bestway Group’s non-banking businesses in Pakistan, disclosed the upcoming lineup during a recent media interaction held in Lahore on September 15, ahead of Geely’s formal entry into the Pakistani market.
BAL is the official representative and authorised distributor of Geely Auto in Pakistan and will initially introduce the vehicles as Completely Built Units (CBUs).
The media interaction, held ahead of Geely’s upcoming market launch, brought together media for a discussion on the partnership, Geely’s global position, its technology and safety capabilities, and Bestway Automotive’s plans for Pakistan.
Two EVs and One Hybrid SUV
Geely’s initial Pakistan lineup will focus entirely on new-energy SUVs.
Of the three models planned for launch, two will be fully electric SUVs, while the third will use a hybrid powertrain.
The company has not yet disclosed the names, specifications or prices of the three SUVs.
Bookings for Geely vehicles are expected to open before the end of 2026.
Local Assembly Planned
Bestway Automotive also plans to move from imported vehicles to local assembly in Pakistan.
The company has recently acquired an existing CKD manufacturing facility, which it plans to use for assembling Geely vehicles locally.
The three-SUV launch will therefore serve as Geely’s initial entry into Pakistan before BAL expands the brand’s local operations and assembly plans.
Further details regarding the individual EV and hybrid models, their prices and exact launch dates are expected closer to the official market launch.
Muhammad Irfan Anwar Sheikh, Group Managing Director of Bestway Group’s non-banking businesses in Pakistan, said that the partnership reflects the strength and long-term investment strategy of Bestway Group, which has built a substantial presence in Pakistan across multiple sectors, including cement, banking, insurance, packaging, renewable technology and consultancy.
“For us, this partnership is a long-term commitment to Pakistan. Bestway Group has been investing in and building businesses here for decades, across sectors including cement and banking, and that experience and track record provide reassurance to our stakeholders, partners and customers that we are here to build for the long term. With Geely, we are bringing together that local strength and experience with the technology, safety and global capabilities of a major automotive manufacturer,” Sheikh said.
