Date Announced for New Peoples Bus Service Route Launch
The Sindh government has announced a new Peoples Bus Service route connecting Larkana with Shahdadkot via Qambar, with operations set to begin on September 18.
The decision came during a meeting of the Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Department chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Officials briefed the minister on ongoing public transport projects and plans to introduce new routes across the province.
Under the new route, buses will operate from Larkana to Shahdadkot through Qambar, providing residents of the three cities and surrounding areas with a new public transport option.
Sharjeel Inam Memon directed the department to ensure that the new service starts on the scheduled date and that passengers receive the necessary facilities.
The minister said the new route would provide residents of Larkana, Qambar, Shahdadkot and nearby areas with better access to public transportation. He added that the Sindh government is working to expand the Peoples Bus Service to other cities and districts across the province.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of existing public transport services, including the Green Line and Orange Line BRT. Officials informed the minister that daily ridership on the Green Line has reached 88,000 passengers, while more than 11,000 people travel on the Orange Line each day.
