The School Education Department has decided to retain the conveyance allowance of 35,000 teachers taking part in the English Language Proficiency Course during the summer holidays.
According to official instructions, no deduction will be made from the conveyance allowance of teachers enrolled in the training programme, and all eligible teachers will receive the full amount.
The department has directed all District Education Authorities to prepare complete lists of participating teachers and send them to the Finance Department to ensure timely payment.
It has also asked the authorities to immediately share the data of all 35,000 teachers with the Finance Department so that no delay occurs in the release of their allowance.
Normally, conveyance allowance is deducted from teachers’ salaries during summer vacations, but those attending this special training course have been exempted from the cut.
