671 Foreign Nationals Arrested in Call Center Raids to Be Blacklisted

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to place 671 foreign nationals arrested during crackdowns on illegal call centers on Pakistan’s foreign blacklist.

According to FIA officials, the blacklisted individuals will not be allowed to re-enter Pakistan after their deportation.

Sources said the foreigners were allegedly involved in various illegal activities, including fraud and blackmail, while some were also found involved in the international distribution of explicit content through online platforms.

Authorities have also ordered investigations into the local links of the foreign nationals to determine whether Pakistani individuals or groups were facilitating their activities.

Sources said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been asked to inform the respective countries about the alleged crimes and cases involving their nationals.

The decision comes amid an ongoing nationwide crackdown against illegal call centers, cyber fraud and other online crimes.

Investigators are examining the activities of foreign nationals who had been operating from Pakistan, including their business arrangements, financial transactions and links with local individuals.

The FIA is also working with other relevant institutions to trace the networks allegedly involved in online fraud, blackmail and the distribution of illegal content.

Authorities are expected to take further action against both foreign nationals and their local facilitators as the investigation progresses.
