Punjab is expected to receive its ninth and final spell of monsoon rain from today, with heavy rainfall forecast across most districts until September 17.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has warned that Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala and Faisalabad could face urban flooding during the latest weather spell.
According to a PDMA spokesperson, intense rainfall may overwhelm drainage systems in these major cities and create flooding risks in low-lying areas.
Meanwhile, the authority has also warned of possible landslides in Murree, the Galiyat region and other mountainous areas due to the expected rainfall.
Several districts of Sindh are also likely to receive rain during the same period.
According to the forecast, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Hyderabad and Khairpur may receive rain from this evening until September 16.
Karachi is also expected to receive rain from tomorrow until September 16.
Authorities have advised residents in flood-prone and landslide-sensitive areas to remain alert and take precautionary measures as the latest monsoon spell moves across Punjab and Sindh.
