Around 4,300 schools operating under the Punjab Education Initiatives Management Authority (PEIMA) are facing financial strain as payments for July and August remain pending.
The delay in the release of funds has affected nearly 20,000 teachers and school administrators, many of whom are struggling to manage their financial obligations as schools await clearance of outstanding dues.
School owners said the prolonged payment delay has made it difficult to cover routine expenses and has also placed pressure on the household finances of teachers and other staff.
Around 600,000 students are currently enrolled in the affected schools operating under PEIMA.
Responding to the concerns, PEIMA officials said payments to licensee schools are being released in phases and assured that the remaining outstanding dues will be cleared soon.
