15-Year-Old Boy Dies After Car Hits Him During Chase in Multan

A speeding car struck and killed 15-year-old Waseem Abbas during an alleged chase in a private housing society in Multan, police said.

Police arrested contractor Touqeer Nazir, the main suspect, and seized the vehicle. They also registered a case and are investigating the incident.

According to police, Waseem had left his job before the contractor allegedly began chasing him. The suspect first pursued the teenager on foot. He then followed him in a car with another man, identified as Amjad Ali, police said.

During the chase, the car hit Waseem. The impact caused him to strike a house gate, and he died at the scene, according to police.

In his initial statement to police, Nazir said Waseem had been learning electrical work from him. He claimed the teenager would leave work without permission. Nazir also said he drove behind Waseem because he wanted to stop and catch him.

Orphanage administrator Jawad Haider said Waseem was an orphan who lived at the facility. He said Waseem had been placed with Nazir to learn electrical work.

The teenager originally belonged to Muzaffargarh. Police said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances of his death.
